Mike:

In my experience you can start with a model but you will get requirements for each partner. It also depends on what role your development plays - front/back end or integration. Your design will lead to extending the model which to me is the saving grace of all of this but the down stream partners drive all of the for integration work. That includes callbacks.

Subject: [ajug-members] webservice development

Hello everyone,
I have been tasked with determining if our webservice approach is appropriate in an SOA environment and am looking for some guidance.
We are planning on developing webservices that return domain objects. It has been suggested that we should be returning data specific to a request instead. For me this does not feel right in a number of ways. This includes lack re-usability of the webservice, proliferation of webservices due to a webservice be developed for each function in the enterprise.

What am I missing? Any help would be appreciated.
ThanksMike Barnes
