Ramesh,
There is no single book that will prepare you for the exam. However, there
are a few books that are often recommended, for a current list I suggest you
go to JavaRanch.com and check out the SCEA certification forum. JavaRanch is
a great place to learn and share what you know and you can access everything
there for free.

One book to beware of though is the SCEA book put out by Osborne. I got a
copy of the new (2nd) edition when I was preparing for the SCEA beta exam
last winter and it was no help at all. The book from Sun by Mark Cade was
more useful even though I bought it back in 2002 when it was first
published.

The trick with the SCEA is that it covers so many topics that any single
book that tries to cover them all can only give you a taste of each topic.
Use the exam objectives as a guide to help you figure out which topics you
need to know more about, then check out the recommended books on JavaRanch
to find resources to help you get the depth.

Good luck with the exam,
