Hello Atlanta Java Community,
We have a few more days before we have to give our final commitment to the
Galleria and close down DevNexus registration because we have to have an
accurate headcount several days before the actual event. DevNexus requires
a considerable effort & expense to organize and it is the Atlanta Java Users
Group greatest commitment to the local community. I have personally spoken
at Java developer conferences in Switzerland, Brazil & Belguim and visited
JUGs throughout the US and I can state that the Atlanta Java community is
one of the most energized groups in the world. We want to see you at
DevNexus and have held space for your attendance.
Please take the time to get the word out to any other software professionals
in the Atlanta market, please invite your cubicle neighbors and even your
Dilbert-like pointy-haired boss! :-)
I have attached a draft agenda to this note for your review. It is subject
to change but you can see we have a packed two-day event filled with great
topics & speakers traveling in from around the country.
Our speaker interest has been tremendous and our line up is absolutely
fantastic. Sun, JBoss, Terracota, Thoughtworks, Alfresco, SpringSource and
others have all graciously agreed to send us great speakers. We also have
people like Peter Higgins, lead of the Dojo project, driving in just to
spend two days with the Atlanta Java community. We have speakers like Neal
Ford, an Atlanta-based member of the Thoughtworks team and one of the most
sought after speakers for No Fluff Just Stuff, JavaOne and international
developer conferences. We have the dedication of people like Pratik Patel
and Jeremy Haile, experts from our local community who will provide you with
immediately useful techniques for your current & future projects.
Our mission is to provide the least costly but richest educational event for
the local community. Our sponsors have contributed several thousands of
dollars to AJUG annual expenses and DevNexus and our volunteers like
Vincent, Sudhir & Gunnar have worked very hard on getting everything ready.
Let us know you are coming at www.devnexus.com
And if your boss is standing in the way, please give him/her my mobile
number - 770-714-3292. I'm sure we can make them understand the value of
education! If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to call me
as I'm always buried by emails and can't respond to them all.
Sincerely,
Burr
