I have a group of rockstar caliber java friends cranking on a Flex
project right now and loving it. They did consider both the Silverlight
& AJAX models for this application but when with Flex due to its
maturity level and a desire to build a killer "desktop" like app that is
deployed via the browser.
Now, Flex does assume a particular type of development paradigm. It is
more akin to VB or PowerBuilder than Swing/SWT. I suspect there are a
number of Java development teams that would struggle with the "learning
curve".
In any case, I've been thinking of asking of the Adobe folks to Atlanta
and give us the hardcore deep dive.
