I've got no experience with it - but OpenBravo looks like a pretty good
tool: http://www.openbravo.com/

Subject: [ajug-members] simple inventory management

Hello

I'm fairly new to Java (recent Comp Sci grad) and web programming in
general, and happy to find this group to learn from as I grow in this
field.

I have a friend who owns a Tire shop that also does other mechanic work:
brakes, oil changes, and other repairs.

He would like to have a web-based inventory control system set up so
that he can track his inventory.

He wants views of all inventory (truck tires, oil filters, etc), and
would like to see each individual item by serial number.

Of course, he would like to be able to add new inventory and delete
inventory when sold.

There are 2 shops to track inventory for.

We are wondering... Are there any good open source solutions that he
could use?

We would rather go that route rather than take the time and effort to
develop from scratch and then have to maintain.

Thanks,

Kerry Randolph
