Hello Team (you are all now part of the event planning exercise!)

We have successfully laid the plans for the Oct, Nov, Dec & Jan 2008
meetings. Plus have a candidate for a 2nd Jan meeting as well! So now that
I have some breathing room, I want to orchestrate two new events that will
require a significant amount of manpower on behalf of the coordinator.
There are two topics that I believe would best be covered by a group of
panelists who can talk about their experiences.

Topic 1: Web Frameworks

Topic 2: Methodology/Processes

This email concerns Web Frameworks (another email will be sent out to
discuss the other topic).

We need:

1 - coordinator/producer - someone who will make sure the people below show
up, on the right date/time, with the right information

3 to 4 - panelists - these may be end-users from the local community OR
these may be representatives from the actual framework projects (the latter
is going to be way more difficult to come by).

The objective is to have a lively discussion of one a panelist loves his/her
framework the most. They might be totally fascinated by Struts 2 or Wicket.
Or perhaps they love JSF or even Seam. Or maybe they think Struts 1 is
still the best thing in the world and will make sure his/her projects will
continue to use that technology for years to come.

In any case, I would like to hear your opinions the following:

- What frameworks should be reviewed (need a champion on the panel)

- Who should be the panelists (we are primarily looking for sr devs
& archs who use this stuff)

- What are the key questions to be asked of the panelists (e.g.
tell us about your framework's AJAX-ibility or adaptability to auto unit
testing)

Please do reply all and lets make this an open discussion. Part of the
learning process will occur just in this conversation. I do believe this is
make for a very fun and educational event.

Burr
