Take a look at "Effective Java: Programming Language Guide" by Joshua
Bloch... http://books.google.com/books?id=ZZOiqZQIbRMC

I find it to be a pretty good reference book that covers many of the
"gotchas" of the Java language... It seems like it would be ideal for
someone returning to Java after putting it down for a while...
