    After a lot of stress and distress among Apple developers, a new 64 bit 
preview is out.  See the message below.

    A note from another of my areas of interest:  The AS/400 (iSeries) has 
been 64 bit for a loooong time, and that was naturally the case with Java on 
the box as well.  On the last release, they added an optional 32 bit 
version.  Since the AS/400 typically does jobs for large user or data 
volumes, IMO that's something to consider in the movement to 64 bit 
implementations.  That's not to say we shouldn't have 64 bit environmets, 
just that they might not be appropriate in all situations.  Options are 
good...
