Hi all,

I am interested in learning about software infrastructure and tools used 
by companies that are focussed on developing websites / web based apps.
In particular I'd like to learn about popular solutions/strategies used 
for:

1. Backups
2. Creation of development environments (say pros/cons of 
using VMware/Virtual PC for this)
3. Version control
4. Web app development frameworks (for java/.net/php etc)
5. Project management tools (like maven and equivalents for other 
platforms)
6. Project documentation techniques.
7. A discussion about processes appropriate for web app development 

In general ...  processes and infrastructure that are specific to the web 
app development community.

Pointers to user groups/mailing lists/wikis would be very helpful.
