[ajug-members] DB dump / load tool

Hi James,

So far the only tool that wasn't home grown java/swing is MS's DTR facility
that comes with MsSQL server, maybe the enterprise edition. In general I've
heard good reports that MS's DTR is a good data move / transformation tool.

Re your triggers etc, maybe DTR won't do that. You're looking for a schema
dump as well as data dump tool. I've seen the Toad / Quest tools do what
you need but Toad is single DB type and don't support but 3 or so DB's....

I'll post back if I find a better solution.

Curt

I'm so glad you asked. I am looking for the same thing. Something that can

also handle vender specific db items (views, stored procedures, triggers,
etc) and convert them back and forth based on some configurable conversion
mechanism/dialect.
