Job Description:  

The selected J2EE Deployment Analyst will be working with the UPS Internet Systems team which provides technical infrastructure support for the UPS.com application development and QA teams, as well as deployment and support of customer applications in the UPS.com production environment

The J2EE Deployment Analyst will be deploying application software to Linux servers running WebLogic Application Server and Apache Web Server. Performs troubleshooting of application systems and resolves issues. Performs 24x7 production support for UPS.com on a rotating basis, including off hours support via remote access and cell phone.

Primary Required Skills:

Weblogic (preferred) or any J2EE application server administration – Intermediate (Min.  2+ years applied working experience) 
Basic Linux System Administration (Min.  2+ years applied working experience) 
Apache administration including SSL - Intermediate skill level 
Primary responsibility for this position is: 
Administration, configuration and troubleshooting of web applications (Min. 2+ years applied working experience) 
Basic TCP/IP 
Demonstrated Teamwork, Research, Leadership skills 
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team is essential 
Proven Critical Thinking Skills 
Performs 24x7 production support for www.UPS.com on a rotating basis, including off hours support via remote access and cell phone will be required 

Education:

The desired J2EE Deployment Analyst will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline or the equivalent in education and work experience.  3-5+ years’ experience in systems analysis and applications programming development.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer. 
No relatives who are employed by UPS or any of its subsidiaries. 
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/related discipline or the equivalent in education and work experience. 
Minimum of 2 years experience in a J2EE application deployment analyst role. 
Provide 24x7 production support for www.UPS.com on a rotating basis including off hours support via remote access and cell phone. 
OTHER CRITERIA:
