JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

• Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business systems and user needs
• Formulates systems to parallel overall business strategies
• Writes detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer programs
o Interface specification
o System flow diagrams
o Code patterns
o Package structure
o Deployment model
• Responsible for designing and planning unit, integration and acceptance testing
• May plan and execute unit, integration, and acceptance testing
• May write code or work with engineers to model patterns
• May write prototypes to prove a technology or pattern
• Knowledgeable about relational database concepts
• Knowledgeable about client server concepts
• Knowledgeable about scalability and redundancy concepts
• Good at identifying how designs will impact customers like support and services
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
• Performs a variety of complicated tasks
• A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected

EDUCATION

• Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Requires 4+ years of experience in technical system design or software engineering 

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS


• UML Modeling
• Object Oriented analysis and design
• Database design
• Use case analysis and development with a focus on system use cases
• Experience in full life cycle system development including: design, building, testing, deployment, upgrade and support

DESIRED SKILLS


• Software engineering background
• Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills
• Strong planning and organization skills
• Experience with offshore development
• Experience in C# and Java
