Write programs to maintain and control computer systems software for operating systems, networked systems, and database systems. Responsible for creating the software platform, and then fine-tuning the final program after it has been made. Will also assist with obtaining various industry certifications for the software platform. Typically has a Bachelor degree in computer science or related field with previous experience in programming. 
Education/Experience 
o Bachelors degree in computer science or relevant field required 
o 5-7 years experience required 
Responsibility level 
o Exercises independent judgment with direction from supervisor 

Skills 
o JBoss, SVN, Maven (Required) 
o Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills (Required) 
o Ability to work independently and manage one’s time (Required) 
o Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery (Required) 
o Ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue 
o Knowledge of computer development software, such as SQL, Java, J2EE, etc (Required) 
Major Job Duties and Responsibilities: 
o Modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt it to new hardware or to upgrade interfaces and improve performance 
o Design and develop software systems. 
o Consult with engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, develop specifications and performance requirements and resolve customer problems 
o Consult with external certification granting/assessing organizations/bodies such as Kantara, OIX, etc. 
o Advise customer about, or perform, maintenance of software system 
o Coordinate installation of software system 
o Analyze information to determine, recommend and plan installation of a new system or modification of an existing system 
o Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures working closely with QA 
o Consult with customers or other departments on project status, proposals and technical issues such as software system design and maintenance
