SRI is interested in hiring talented individuals to become part of our software development team in our St. Petersburg, Florida office.  As part of the team, you will engage in cutting-edge software development efforts in support of on-going projects managed by the SRI Engineering and Systems Divisions Software Engineering and Development team 
(http://www.sri.com/esd/swep/). 

Tasks performed may also include, but are not limited to, software design and development for applications involving: data analysis and processing, graphical user interfaces, database programming, hardware control, reliable data distribution, situation awareness, network communications and mapping.

We are looking for team players who approach problems with an engineer's mind set and the ability to find solutions outside of the box. We are looking for self-motivated developers who are able to take tasks and work independently or with a group. Specific technologies are not as important as a fundamental understanding of engineering principals and a history of integrating into and working effectively in dynamic team environments.  

The following are required:

-  Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field.
 - Thorough grasp of Object-Oriented principals.
 - Experience with Agile process and development.
 - Experience with Service Oriented Architectures (SOA's). .
 - Excellent communication skills (both written and spoken).
 - Experience with strongly typed languages (C++/Java/.NET).
 - Experience with dynamic languages (Python, Javascript etc).
 - Effective organizational skills.

The following are a plus:

- Experience with Java web service frameworks (Spring, Axis2, CXF)
- Knowledge of WSDL.
- Knowledge of UML
- Understanding of XML, ORM and basic data modeling
- Experience working with remote team members.
