Quality Assurance Analyst, Sr.
JOB DESCRIPTIONS:
Works with division management, project managers, and development teams to develop and implement the overall division quality assurance approach including
methodologies, artifacts, software and processes. Evaluates and tests new or
modified software programs and software development procedures used to verify that programs function according to user requirements and conform to establishment guidelines. Develops and maintains overall division quality assurance approach including methodologies, artifacts and software process. Develops and maintains test plans, manual and automated test scripts for user interface, functionality, system and "ad-hoc testing". Executes regression tests, functional tests and data tests for several applications. Reports, tracks and determines priority of reported bugs. Writes, revises, and verifies quality standards and test procedures for program design and product evaluation to attain quality of software economically and efficiently. Reviews new or modified programs, including documentation, diagram, and flow chart, to determine if programs will perform according to user request and conform to guidelines. Monitors program performance after implementation to prevent reoccurrence
of program operating problems and ensure efficiency of operation. Writes documentation to describe program evaluation, testing, and correction. May evaluate proposed software or software enhancement for feasibility and
train software program users. Performs related responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor's degree in computer sciences/engineering or related discipline and five years of quality assurance, software testing or related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Proficiency with testing methodologies (white vs. black box test work, system vs. functional) and software process methodologies.
The position will be a part of the overall Research and Health Sciences IT division which includes an integrated team of programmers, database administrators, data modelers, business analysts, project managers, and web designers. The Division is a central IT organization that supports researchers across Emory University including areas such as predictive health, public health preparedness and response, brain imaging, glycomics, transplantation and regenerative medicine as well as technology platforms including laboratory information management systems, high performance computing, collaboration, and data acquisition and management. The Division of Research and Health Sciences IT is a multi-million dollar central organization with a mission to support Emory University
researchers with information technology/informatics solutions and practices. Its multi-million budget is funded through grants, service center charges, and shared positions.
