DESCRIPTION
The System Engineer is part of a team responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, migration, and extending the software development lifecycle (SDLC) tool set. The primary responsibility for this individual will be implementing and supporting the SDLC applications and tools while simultaneously working on a variety of other projects, applying standards, and troubleshooting issues. This position requires day and evening work hours and reports to the Manager of Systems Engineering and Design.

RESPONSIBILITIES

improve, and enforce SDLC procedures and standards 
Work with Developers, DBA's and Project Managers to migrate development projects into a new SDLC system 
Perform rapid prototyping/POC to find best methods and quickly turnaround dependable solutions (OS and application configuration) 
Implement and enforce development best practices 
Create automation systems to replace manual processes and tasks 
Support and interact with a wide range of developers and code bases 
 

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelors degree in technical field or equivalent experience 
3+ years change management or development experience 
Intermediate knowledge of UNIX (Linux, Solaris, and/or AIX) with the ability to construct shell scripts, read and analyze existing scripts. 
Intermediate/Advanced knowledge of Maven with at least 2 year of day to day direct Maven support/implementation.   
Working knowledge of several of the following is desirable: Mercurial, Hudson, Starteam, Ruby, Perl, c/c++, java, XML, Revision Management, Spring, Continuous Integration, 
Works well as part of a team with the ability to complete tasks independently
