The Research and Health Sciences IT Division is seeking a software developer with Java, web application and Semantic Web experience to work on the Electronic Biomedical Interactive Tool (eBIRT).  eBIRT, (http://ebirt.emory.edu) is a Web 2.0 application developed for the Atlanta Clinical and Translational Science Institute (ACTSI, http://www.atlantactsi.org/about/index.html).  eBIRT is used by researchers across the ACTSI for discovery of biomedical resources within the various Universities and Organizations affiliated with the Institute.  The application utilizes a search engine to discover research resources entered through an administrative console or as linked data and content.  Currently the resources include software, laboratory services and information about service providers.  The application will eventually be used to match-up other entities in the search including people, publications and funded grants and funding opportunities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Six years of information technology experience OR a bachelor's degree and four years of information technology experience.   Positions in this classification may require knowledge of one or more programming languages and/or knowledge of an application and application tools.

•	Lucene, SOLR, semantic web (OWL/RDF)
•	B.S. and 4 years software development experience or M.S. in Computer Science and 3 years experience
•	Java, JavaScript, XML, JSON, HTML, CSS, jquery 
•	Object-Oriented Design, knowledge of the Unix OS, Tomcat
•	Must have good communication skills
•	 Must have good user interface design skills
•	Demonstrated motivation and aptitude for learning new technologies
•	Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
