Summary: Consultant is responsible for implementing SpectrumK12’s Exceed Platform for customers and guiding the customers through technical issues.

 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
·       Assists in establishing requirements thru to implementation of the process.
·       Works with Functional Consultant and client to define software requirements and assess feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
·       Consults with network and other development staff to evaluate database design, system structure, interface between hardware and software, and operational and performance requirements of overall system.
·       Coordinates installation of software system and database(s).
·       Works with on-site personnel to create data interfaces between source systems and the Exceed platform
·       Works with on-site personnel or internal project manager to review problems, define and test solutions, and develop reports for user management.
·       Assists in development of technical and documentation standards.
·       Assists team members with questions and decision-making.

Competencies:
·       Able to communicate with and understand Functional Consultants’ verbal and documented system specifications
·       Able to comprehend user business needs and concerns and integrate that understanding with technical skills.
·       High level verbal and written communication skills. Ability to facilitate discussions among people with differing backgrounds and opinions leading to consensus. Extensive interaction with both technical and client (non-technical) persons, and the ability to bridge between them.
·       High level of competency in SQL Server (syntax; extensive use of triggers, stored procedures; understanding of database design and normalization, referential integrity, and table -driven design concepts, use of permissions). Extensive experience with Java and J2EE.
·       High level of competency in Web servers and Application servers.  Ability to deploy, configure, manage, monitor, and troubleshoot Application Servers
·       High level of competency in Window System administration.  Capable of setup and administration of Microsoft Windows server; active directory; and, implementation, maintenance and support of Windows anti-virus applications. Two or more year’s recent experience in TCP/IP connectivity and troubleshooting; installation and trouble shooting of business application software and operating Systems. Must be able to trouble shoot network connectivity and client/server communication issues relating to physical links, logical network, O/S, applications, etc.
·       Able to thoroughly manage time against both billable and non-billable objectives for overall productivity and efficiency.

Education and Experience:
Minimum of 5 years experience in IT consulting or Software Development. Minimum of three (3) years of experience with both SQL Server and Java, but quality and depth of experience is more important than actual number of years. 

Must be open to Travel
