SUMMARY
The Software Architect is responsible for the design and evolution of software architecture. The Software Architect will influence the technology direction and develop system and architecture design methods, tools, test and integration methods.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provide overall technical leadership and technology coordination
2. Analyzes software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints
3. Formulates and designs software systems using iterative testing and test modules to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design
4. Analyzes service interfaces
5. Assist in defining development solutions
6. Notify BA of conflicts in requirements and real world implementation
7. Create design documents
8. Support the creation and modification of the development process
9. Continuously identify opportunities for improved efficiencies
10. Unit test code
11. Review business requirements with customer IT group to validate implementation solution and gather technical details needed to complete tasks
12. Designs effective system configuration, management, and installation tools to enable system diagnostics, installation and change management
13. Works closely with a with internal and 3rd party developers on product implementation strategies
14. Review and design key product requirements
15. Influence technology directions
16. Develop future systems architecture that is reliable, maintainable, and scalable
17. Collaborate on customer needs and proposals
18. Must be willing and able to be “hands on” in day-to-day tasks
19. Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Minimum 7+ years experience in applications programming and sound software development processes
2. Bachelor’s degree in CIS or MIS; MOT preferred or equivalent work experience
3. 2+ years experience working with a team of developers
4. Expertise in standard programming concepts, procedures and practices
5. 3+ years experience analysis, design, coding, unit and integration testing of business applications in an object oriented environment
6. Experience navigating cross-functional teams
7. Effective verbal and written communications
8. Advanced technical problem solving skills and the ability to create innovative solutions
9. Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex situations and understand key issues quickly
10. Demonstrated ability to prioritize work load and meet multiple deadlines
11. Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment and make independent decisions
