SUMMARY
Our client is seeking a professional, technical consultant to join our Application Services team. This position is critical to the success of our client's Enterprise Solution project. This individual will be the "go to" person in Application Services for deep Java/WebLogic technical expertise related to troubleshooting, tuning, and critical problem resolution. The primary focus of this position is the development and support of a Java application infrastructure hosted in WebLogic that is core to several enterprise wide solutions. This position will help shape custom application development standards and architectures surrounding these large-scale systems, ensuring the implementation of a reliable, scalable, and maintainable enterprise infrastructure.

RESPONSIBILITIES
This is a highly technical role requiring critical and logical thinking. In addition, this position provides procedural and technical leadership to developers across Application Services and to business unit developers by establishing development guidelines and standards, participating in design/analysis sessions, reviewing architectural diagrams, coding practices, mentoring, and troubleshooting, as necessary. Other duties will include the following:
• Partner with developers as required to help them understand both the technical and procedural aspects of using specific technologies
• Partner with specific application support groups to implement a proactive monitoring for Java based enterprise applications
• Coordinate with other IT organizations to implement new technologies
• Assist in the development of guidelines and standards related to Java development and application servers
• Partner with application owners to help troubleshoot, identify, and resolve production issues
• Design, develop, and support reusable components that contribute to more efficient development overall
• Proactively stay current with new technologies and be prepared to assist developers with design and development using these technologies
• Demonstrate superior performance, unquestionable trust and total commitment

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Qualified candidates will have the following:

Education / Experience: 
• Degree in Computer Science or a related field and ability to work in a dynamic team oriented environment as well as independently
• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of software development technologies, methodology and associated tools
• 4+ years experience with WebLogic (version 8,9, or 10) is essential
• 4+ years experience and strong understanding of J2EE and WebLogic performance tuning is essential
• Ability to assist developers and other support personnel with diagnosing the cause and cure for application, WebLogic, or infrastructure based problems.
• Detailed understanding of distributed frameworks such as J2EE, EJB, .Net, IBM WebSphere, or BEA WebLogic, and MS IIS
• Experience as a software engineer utilizing current J2EE technologies in a disciplined software engineering environment
• .Net development experience a plus
Ability to integrate with third party commercial products and to work with development teams on API integration and interface with these products
• Candidate must have strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Knowledge of IBM's Maximo application a plus
• Awareness of energy industry trends, opportunities and challenges
