Job Description
As a key member of the eReceivables Development team, the incumbent will be responsible for building business critical eReceivables enterprise software systems and quality of project deliverables in terms of the Architecture and technical design, test driven development, testing, implementations and technical/compliance of eReceivables Development projects that are core to the American Express GMS organization. The candidate must be able to work in a fast paced environment, with multiple competing priorities.
Core responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Lead the design and delivery of product development using Iterative Test Driven Development approach using Java EE 5, and Web Services technologies to ensure the highest degree of quality
Identify, assess, and resolve business issues to provide technical alternatives that meet cost and schedule constraints while being flexible, scalable, and re-usable.
Compliance with Amex Method 1 development methodology and PGB process using Amex Enterprise Architecture standards and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) principles
Drive results by providing technical thought leadership to application teams and technologies partner teams from architecture through implementation and address SOX and PCI compliance audits
Deliver high quality, efficient and secure code within agreed upon schedules and budget and pro-actively communicate and manage risk for assigned projects
Develop proof of concepts for new technology choices and design solutions by working closely with Architecture group
Build eReceivables AR platform monitoring and reporting tools to ease the maintenance of the Invoice Harbor AR applications
Must be a self starter and drive key processes from conception to completion, while working well in a team environment as a key contributor

QUALIFICATIONS:
*Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or equivalent Engineering field required
*Proficiency in Object-oriented analysis and design, Object oriented programming, Design Patterns using Java JDK6 and Java EE 5 technologies for large-scale enterprise applications development.
*Expert knowledge in Java JDK6, Java EE 5, JSP, Struts, Java Server Faces (JSF), Facelets, Seam, EJB3, Hibernate 3.3. Java Persistence API (JPA) and Web Services technologies
*5 years practical hands-on Test Driven Development experience following Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) principles using Java, JSF, Seam, J2EE, Java EE 5, EJB3, Hibernate JPA and Web Services technologies.
*Deploying Java EE 5 applications on Sun Java System Application Server 9.x and IBM WebSphere Application Server 6.x
*Experience in developing Business Services using Service Oriented Architecture best practices and Java EE 5 and Web Services Standards
*Applying Agile Software Development process best practices including Iterative 2 week short development cycles, Incremental design, Refactoring, Testing early, often and automated through Automated Unit testing, Java Coding standards, Shared code, Single code base, Automated Daily deployment, and Continuous integration using Hudson
*Develop Single Sign-On Design solution with Authentication from Customer's portal and Authorization through Role Based Access Control Mechanism
*Follow Architecture Blue Print and Technical design strategy to implement Nonfunctional requirements like Reliability, Scalability, Flexibility, Extensibility, Maintainability
*Strong leadership skills & ability to collaborate across development portfolios to drive results
*Strong technical aptitude with an intense desire to learn new Skills
*Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills
*Must be highly motivated and exhibit a sense of urgency and ownership
*Ability to work under pressure to specific deadlines with high quality output and attention to detail
*Strong conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills
*Strong organizational skills, including the ability to focus simultaneously on long and short term priorities
*Prior experience with Invoice Harbor and/or other American Express software applications a plus
* American Citizenship or Green Card /  USCIS EAD   is an essential requirement to apply for this permanent postion at American Express
