The successful candidate will join our client’s team creating their flagship product. Their flagship product is a user-friendly, powerful web application used as an automation system worldwide. Our client works in a dynamic, collaborative team environment that has consistently created innovative and market leading solutions. They are looking for a senior software engineer with strong object oriented design and implementation skills and someone who is passionate about developing a quality application.

Job Responsibilities:
•	Develop high quality software solutions for customer requirements using Object Oriented design and programming techniques 
•	Design and develop new features or enhancements to flagship products’ core server infrastructure including application services, data persistence and network communications layer using Java (J2SE)
•	Serve as a technical lead for new software feature development
•	Analyze existing software with a focus on improving performance, scalability and user experience
•	Maintain or make improvements to existing code base with appropriate refactoring and unit testing
•	Help QA engineers to develop appropriate test plans for the new features or feature enhancements
•	Help technical support team to diagnose and resolve technical problems
•	Help document new features or feature enhancements

The successful candidate will be well organized with good time management skills.  This position requires excellent communication skills as well as the ability to work well in a team environment.

Required Skills: 
•	Excellent object oriented design skills
•	Proficient in Java programming using J2SE/J2EE
•	Strong understanding of software engineering principles and practices
•	In depth understanding of principles of computer networking and database programming using JDBC
•	Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
•	Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate in a team environment
•	Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a dynamic environment

Required Experience:
•	At least 7-8 years of professional experience developing software using Java  (J2SE/J2EE)
•	In depth experience using object oriented design and programming techniques in professional software applications
•	Multi-threaded application development experience is required
•	Experience refactoring existing software for feature enhancements or to improve performance, scalability and maintainability
•	Experience developing unit tests and/or automated system tests

Preferred Experience:
•	Proficient with object-relational mapping, JDBC and SQL
•	Proficient with low-level network programming, TCP/IP and TCP/UDP
•	Experience with Java concurrency programming
•	Unix/Linux experience

Education:
•	BA/BS degree with 7 or more years applicable experience
•	MA/MS degree with 5 or more years applicable experience
