Title: Senior Software Designer 

Roles & Responsibilities: 

As a Senior Software Designer, the candidate will design and integrate JAX-WS based Web Services within a SOA framework. The candidate will review business and functional requirements to design WS-based business components which integrate with backoffice systems. The candidate will create WSDLs and design documentation to be handed off to development teams for implementation. This will include designing unit testing guidelines. This may include providing prototypes or reference implementations. The candidate will review and verify the integrity of the completed implementation via governance tools and code review prior to release. 

The candidate will work closely with Business Analysts, Project Managers and other Development Teams to insure that designs meet business requirements while integrating with the overall SOA architecture. 

Requirements: 

Candidates must be proficient in Web Service standards, including WSDLs, WS-Policy, WS-Addressing, and WS-Security. 
Candidate must have demonstrable experience developing Web Services within Java, ideally JAX-WS. 
Candidate must have very strong problem-solving skills. 
Candidate must have the ability to mentor junior developers 
Candidate must be willing to agree to and meet tight project timelines. 
Candidate must be able to form and maintain effective relationships across many functional teams. 

• 8 plus years of experience in software development using Java and J2EE 
• 3 years of Web Service development. 
• 1 year of JAX-WS Web Service design/development. 
• 3 years experience developing and debugging with the Eclipse IDE. 
• 2 years experience working with workflow engines, ideally WS-BPEL compliant  engines. 
• 4 years experience with JUnit or TestNG and test-driven development practices. 
• 3 years experience with JBoss AS. 
• 1 year experience with Maven 
• Very self-motivated with ability to take ownership/leadership of work product 
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal. 
• Ability to work well in a large team. 
• BS in computer science, electrical engineering, math or physics; MS a significant plus.
