We currently have a need for a Java / JEE Architect to join with our client as a contract to permanent setup. The ideal candidate will be capable of superior work for each development phase of a project. This includes translating business logic and requirements into architecture and design artifacts, development and unit testing of application, integrating creative assets and both internal and external client-oriented documentation. In addition, the Architect will participate on all phases of the software lifecycle (inception, elaboration, construction, transition). 

Responsibilities • Develop code and artifacts in accordance with the needs of each development phase: • Translate system requirements into software architecture and design artifacts. • Implement in Java according to the system and application design. • Ensure that application meets its non-functional requirements (performance, cost constraints, technical operations, etc.) • Develop internal documentation (i.e javadoc) and external client-oriented documentation. • Collaborate with technical directors and project managers in the provision of estimates and to provide accurate reports on development progress. • Cooperate with the QA department to provide a high quality product, investigate and evaluate software for possible uses within the IT department, prepare time estimates for product development process 

Qualifications • 5+ years experience in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and n-tiered software design • Experience with High Volume/Transaction sites • Experience in giving and meeting time estimates • Excellent communications skills • Ability to work in a team and under pressure • Knowledge of the following tools: Java 5.0, Eclipse, Struts, Hibernate, Oracle SQL, Subversion, XML/SOAP, HTML
