Sapphire Technologies is looking for a Java Architect to fulfill a permanent position in Kennesaw, GA.  The candidate will be doing almost 100% architecture and should have at least 5 years of Java Development / Architecture experience.   

Environment:
 ~Java Architecture, J2EE, Swing, JSP, JavaScript, JBoss, Eclipse, Tuxedo, JUnit, Sybase, UNIX, are some of the technologies used.
~They are web based application for the management of systems
- Server side frameworks: DAO, DTO, VO, EJBs, Spring.
- Client side frameworks: AWT, Swing, MVC, i18n.
- Improve and automate build process and utilities.
- Design and perform JVM and JDK upgrades 1.3 to 1.4 to 1.5.
- Application server migration: SilverStream to JBoss.
-UML documents: Rational Rose, Creole and ArgoUML.
- Database upgrade/migration: MySQL, Oracle, Sybase etc


Requirements include but may not be limited to the following:
•self-starter
•works well along or as part of a team
•excellent interpersonal, planning, and organizational skills 
•5+ years experience in Java Architecture for a business applications
•solid knowledge of multiple architectural  tools, techniques, and how they work collectively
•ability to implement new methods and techniques to improve process efficiencies


Responsible for directing work efforts to achieve the following:
•gather complex business requirements and define architecture goals
•design an overall framework or architecture as it relates to  data processing, network, middle-ware, and group-ware products to deliver a functional application
•develop applications in one or more programming languages using client, database, and
    oserver knowledge develop estimates for project planning
•performs technical research, problem determination and resolution, and technical training
•develops and communicates architectural related implementation plans
•research new ideas, new technologies, and new methodologies to continuously improve
    odevelopment velocity
•participate in creation of test strategy, integration and system test case creation and testing
•provide a system architectue perspective in functional and acceptance test development
•define project technical standards and procedures
•ensure all documentation is kept complete and up to date
•serves as outside Quality Assurance on code reviews
•provides estimates for project schedules
•communicates status of projects 
•conduct walk through of architectural designs with othe project team members
