My client is a well established player within the Australian market. Their software applications are entrenched within major companies across Australia. They are currently seeking a Lead Developer to take ownership of one major application and a small team of developers. This is a fantastic company with a well establish name and product which is gaining significant momentum.

The development lead will serve as a supervisory agent for a small team of programmers. The development lead is responsible for design decisions, programming supervision, standards enforcement, technical and functional direction of a small team of programming resources. In addition, the Development lead will be responsible for directing the implementation of new customer requirements into the software package, and integrating successfully across all functional modules.

Lead Developer Responsibilities:
 
•  Direct programming team activities to deliver software according to specification and standards. 
•  Perform software programming activities to supplement team capabilities. 
•  Provide architectural oversight to ensure compliance with standards and best practices for the software package. 
•  Demonstrate ability to perform programming tasks, and direct and support team members with their programming tasks. 
•  Assist with the development of procedures and processes to improve operational efficiency. 
•  Work effectively with internal and external clients. 
 
Experience Requirements: 
 
• Bachelor degree or equivalent. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for degree. 
• Strong skills in the Java/J2EE platform, Servlets, JSPs, EJBs and Spring
• Detailed experience with web application components such as Struts, Hibernate, and SQL
• Demonstrate a strong track record as a programming supervisor/team lead 
• 5+ years programming experience in JAVA environment 
• Strong experience working within XP/Agile
