Lead Software Engineer
Position Responsibilities / Tasks
- Leading the analysis, design, programming, and medication of software applications
- Recommend changes to design, technologies, and coding techniques
- Mentor junior team members and train new development associates
- Work directly with customer IT teams to produce solutions based on requirements
- Resolve complex technical problems and communicate solutions / outcomes to internal resources
- Unit test solutions, and assist with regression and load testing as required
- Work with Quality Assurance teams to resolve configuration issues and fix defects
Position Requirements / Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree + 6 years / Masters Degree + 4 years of experience in Software Engineering
- 4+ years of software development experience
- 4 years of experience in the Java / J2EE environment
- 3 years experience of JBoss configuration, JMS, Hibernate, EJB development, XML, Struts, Web Technologies
- 4 years of developmental skills on MS SQL Server
- Expert-level Java skills and object oriented design experience, including strong knowledge of core libraries and common design patterns
- Experience with light-weight and / or Agile development methodologies
- Strong understanding of database application development and / or query tools using SQL Server
- Experience with version control, build scripts, and unit testing
- Systems implementation skills: requirements, process analysis, conceptual and detailed design, configuration, testing, training, change management, and production support
- Ability to oversee diverse assignments and juggle multiple priorities
- Project management skills: lead small teams of 1-3 resources (both consulting and permanent employees)
- Serve as a lead and mentor to the development staff, work with senior members across teams. Strong organization and leadership skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Possess risk and issue mitigations skills
- Enthusiasm and consistency in performance
