Senior Software Engineer
Atlanta, GA 
 
Summary:

We are currently seeking a Sr. Software Developer to work on our Foundation Architecture team.  At a high-level, this position will be responsible for creating software designs and implementations.  Some of the detailed responsibilities of the position include: 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Design and develop new enhancements to existing functions
Resolve software defects 
Mentor developers within the team and participate in a collaborative environment where best practice ideas are exchanged. 
Follow coding standards 
Analyze software requirements to determine feasibility, size, and implementation approach. 
Perform unit testing of all new/updated code. 
Continue to improve your technical skills through both Ventyx and self-initiatives. 
Support Sales/Marketing, Customer Support, Professional-Services, and training as necessary. 
Provide regular status and progress information to management.  If schedules are in jeopardy, communicate this well in advance to management. 
Other duties may be assigned to support the organization and its goals. 
Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

An undergraduate degree in either engineering or computer science with a masters degree preferred. 
Six to ten years experience designing and implementing software in Java. 
Experience with the following required: 

Java 
J2EE 
Understanding of design patterns and how to apply them. 
Experience with Web services is preferred 
Strong application server experience is preferred (Tomcat, WebSphere, Weblogic etc.) 
Strong understanding of J2EE design principles/methodologies 
Javascript 
Struts 
XML 
HTML 
Ant 
Experience in C# is a plus
