Responsibilities
This is an opportunity for senior software engineers to put their imprint on a product. The current system is being enhanced to handle the requirements of several large clients and other similar organizations. The current system is implemented as a Linux-based appliance. The system will be transitioning to a web SOA platform. A typical day consists of a wide range of activities, including: software development of new functionality from requirements and/or design documents, architecture design work, software re-development (aka “fixes”), and assisting the services group by explaining how the system works. You will be developing in a Java, J2EE, JSP, Linux/Windows, Oracle/SQL Server, SOA environment, with the requirement to interface with client databases that may also be Oracle and DB2.

Experience
To be successful at our client in this position, you are likely to have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
• Senior level experience in software product development, preferably at a vendor
• A perfect candidate will have worked for a software company and built an ABAP plugin that was certified by SAP.
• Proficient in Java and server technologies such as J2EE, Struts and JMS
• Proficient using a relational database such as Oracle, MS SQL Server, etc. to develop software products including proficiency with SQL
• Proficient with web technologies including AJAX, DHTML, and JSP
• Proficient with Linux or Unix command line interface
• Able to elicit complete, specific and measurable system requirements from ambiguous feature descriptions
• Familiar and conversant with development methodologies such as the Rational Unified Process and eXtreme Programming, as well as team / group development tools such as source code repositories
• BS in Computer Science or related discipline
• Desirable: experience with data warehouses and decision support systems
• Desirable: knowledge of business processes (Procure-to-Pay, General Ledger, etc.)
• Desirable: experience with UI design and development
