Summary

We have a Sr. Developer/Architect position available on our Architecture Team. In this position you will be responsible for providing technical guidance, code and program software products for projects of complex scope by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Code and program new functions and enhancements to existing functions and fix software bugs, primarily focused on complex functions/bugs. May evaluate overall systems and develop diagrams and logic flowcharts. 
2. Mentor programmers within group in regards to coding standards, development procedures, and use of tools. 
3. Follow determined programming standards for software products. 
4. Serve as a development/maintenance resource and responsible for implementing technical direction of software product. 
5. Provide feedback to lead/advisory software engineer on special-training needs. 
6. Analyze software requirement to determine technical implementation. Perform work on complex designs using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design. 
7. Perform unit testing of all new/updated code. 
8. Verify programming and necessary documentation are complete. 
9. Develop technical knowledge as necessary for update of skills. 
10. Coordinate communication between Maintenance and other Development groups. 
11. Support Sales/Marketing, GCS, PSO, and training as necessary. 
12. Provide regular status and progress information on project milestones and informs the appropriate personnel ahead of time if deadlines are in jeopardy. 
13. Other duties may be assigned to support the organization and its goals. 

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Fifth year college or university program certificate; and/or six to nine years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Experience with the following required: 

1. Java 
2. J2EE 
3. Experience with Web services is preferred 
4. Strong application server experience is preferred (Tomcat, WebSphere, Weblogic etc.) 
5. Strong understanding of J2EE design principles/methodologies 
6. Javascript 
7. Struts 
8. XML 
9. HTML 
10. Ant 
11. C or C++ background may be helpful, not required
