We are seeking candidates for multiple experience levels for the programming positions that are available.

Functions

* Complete the necessary training to perform job responsibilities. Code and maintain Java applications from pre-defined specifications. Provide support for existing user applications.
* Define requirements, analyze, design, enhance, and develop software systems to efficiently and effectively fulfill corporate initiatives and planning/development objectives.
* Manage projects for coordination and tasking of up to 4 other I/S resources, plus end user leadership. This includes, but is not limited to; feasibility studies, Systems Analysis Documents, various Q/A walkthroughs, project estimates and project reporting/tracking.
* Maintain technical skill set across a broad range of software languages, databases, platforms, operating systems, utilities and networks.
* Respond to system failure and performance events, taking appropriate measures to reduce system downtime and eliminate recurrence of the problem.
* Respond to system usage questions and conduct training classes to empower system users with the knowledge to maximize their use of developed systems.
* Develop and present I/S and User management comprehensive presentations of proposed systems.
* Assist in development and mentoring of the department's programming staff to ensure that I/S Standards and Procedures and development methodology are followed and that resource potential is realized.

Job Restrictions:

Qualifications

* A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience is required. 
* 2-6+ years of systems and programming experience coding in Java. 
* Experience leading small to medium sized projects. 
* Strong working knowledge of Java programming with a emphasis on server side (back-end) development in a UNIX based environment.
* Strong working knowledge of multi-threaded applications, JDBC, XML Parsing and OO design concepts.
* Strong working experience using SQL (DB2, Sybase, or Oracle).
* Application development experience in a UNIX based OS (AIX preferred).
* Experience using XML.
* Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
* Any experience with the following would be a plus: WebSphere MQ (MQSeries), J2EE (EJB's, Servlets, JSP's), WebSphere Application Developer (WSAD) or Rational Application Developer (RAD), WebSphere Application Server (WAS)building and deploying applications, X12 EDI Transactions, HTML.
