Business Name: Beaglebuddy Software
Email: joneric_wennerstrom at yahoo.com

Job Description:
----------------

is looking for one or two java developers to work part time on a music editor project.

This is an open source like project, in that none of us are getting
paid and the resulting application will be released for free.
We work part time (approx 10 hours a week) from our own homes, and
communicate via e-mail and the occasional phone call.
Although this is a desktop application, and java swing experience would
be valuable, it is not needed. I myself am a j2ee developer by trade, but
have managed to pick up swing pretty easily.

Project Details:
---------------------
The music notation editor, called the beaglebuddy tab editor, allows
users to write music in a wysiwig editor, and to create
professional sheet music. The editor supports various instruments
(vocals, guitars, bass guitars, keyboards, and drums)
and allows both standard and tab notation. It allows users to play
back their music on their computer or other midi device.
The project was started about 6 months ago, but there is a lot of work
remaining.

We are trying to finish the project in the next 6-12 months.
We are a small team (4 people) and work in our spare time at our own
homes. The current project members are based in Phoenix, Arizona and in
Conneticut.

The beaglebuddy tab music editor is backwards compatible with the power
tab editor. You can find some more information on our website:
http://www.beaglebuddy.com

Technology Details:
---------------------------
1. Java 1.6
2. Java Swing
3. Java Sound & Midi
4. Java Help & XHTML
5. Subversion code repository
6. Eclipse & Netbeans IDE
7. Ant build file

The application is internationalized, and currently supports english, german, and spanish.

Job Details:
----------------
We are creating the gui in java swing, and using netbeans and eclipse
to create the gui. We are using the java sound library to create the midi sounds used to play back songs on
a user's computer. If you have an interest in music, and would like to contribute to the project, please contact
me at: joneric_wennerstrom at yahoo.com
