JAVA DEVELOPER

POSITION SUMMARY: 
We have an immediate opening for a Java Developer with at least 1 to 3 years experience in the Flex, Flash, AS3 or Java. This is an excellent opportunity with a growing media entertainment company focused on gaming and virtual communities.

ABOUT US:
Good Egg Studios is a kids media company focused on using social interaction and gaming to empower kids to do good in the world.  Good Egg Studio’s premier product Elf Island is a virtual community targeting tweens, ages 8-12.

ROLE:
This role will lead the integration of the UI with the back-end and lead all documentation for Java development team.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS: 
• 1-3+ years Java programming experience and demonstrated skills necessary to create and maintain large applications and/or suite of applications. 
• 5+ years experience with Object Oriented programming, Web/Application Servers, Source Code and Issue Management processes and methods, HTML, JavaScript, Style sheets, XML and Use Case Methodology. 
• 6+ years of industry experience with following skills: Java, Servlets, JSP, JDBC, DB2, SQL, XML, Rational Application Developer (RAD), Deere IAF 

Frameworks.
• 3+ years experience working with relational databases. 
• Knowledge of integrating with Adobe Flex
• Material Granite Experience a plus
• Working Knowledge of C&F's ERS application
• Web services and .NET technologies.
• 2+ years experience as the development lead on creating and maintaining large applications.
• Strong development leadership skills
• Excellent Analytical skills and Strong code investigative skills i.e., need short turn around times in problem solving. 
• Good communication (both written and verbal) and integrity (to do with accountability). 
• Good mentoring and supervising skills. Strong willingness to share knowledge.
• Good decision making abilities 
• Self-studious - Ability to gain knowledge from existing documentation and code.
• Willingness to take ownership of existing code, applications, processes.
