We are currently seeking to grow our engineering team with (3) J2EE developers that have specialized experience in Transportation Operations (GT Nexus, I2, Yantra, Manugistics, SAP Supply Chain, JDA, G-log, Oracle). Our Client Company is located in the Atlanta area and is a leader in Supply Chain Solutions. Our client company is open to helping with relocation and visa sponsorship (if needed) for the right individual. This position can pay up to a 10% bonus in addition to the base salary.  Please remember: Transportation Operations experience is a must have! 

 

Principal Software Engineer TMS

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

•           Responsible for the design, development, testing and/or support of a significant part of a complex software system. 

•           Provides technical leadership to a small group of software engineers and/or DBAs

•           Develops detailed design specifications for multiple areas of a software system.

•           Becomes familiar with all dependencies, interfaces and services required by most areas of the software system

•           Determines optimal and efficient designs for multiple areas of the software system

•           Leads development of multiple areas of the software system from detailed design specifications

•           Develops and unit tests assigned software areas following R&D development processes

•           Estimates and plans own work and the work of others in the group

•           Becomes the resident expert across multiple areas of the system

•           Evaluates software (or configuration) issues with many areas of the system and resolves them in a timely manner

•           Implements changes to system assuring the changes do not introduce new issues

•           Keeps abreast of improvements in software techniques and develop some improvements on your own

•           Facilitates technology and skills knowledge transfer within the team and beyond

•           Ensures proper documentation is completed for all work

Requirements:

•           BA or BS degree in Computer Science or related field of experience

•           Minimum of 5 years of development experience and at least 4 years of EJB development experience

•           Experience with Java Server Pages, Servlets, JMS and JDBC required Ability to write SQL statements, as well as Oracle stored procedures, is a must

•           Transportation Management Software experience is required

•           Exposure to Optimization Applications is a plus

•           Transportation operations experience is required

•           Experience with Weblogic & WebSphere application server is required

•           Experience with HTML and CSS is a plus

•           The person should be self-motivated, determined to meet deadlines as well as able to make decisions independently to achieve them. 

•           This person will have to understand business and performance requirements of the application
