Software engineer needed to develop leading-edge digital interactive TV application and infrastructure software. Software components created will perform: delivery of video content to streaming devices, asset management, advertising management and network management. Responsibilities include requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing and installation at customer sites.  Several prototypes will be created to demonstrate feasibility of developed components and overall system.  
REQUIRED SKILLS:
The following skills are required to be considered for this position:

•	5+ years experience developing software in a Unix environment
•	4+ years experience developing Java/J2EE applications
•	2+ years of experience in Hibernate or EJB 3.0
•	Understanding of network programming (sockets, TCP/IP, UDP)
•	Experience developing distributed software systems
•	Strong interpersonal and communications skills and an ability to understand and articulate complex ideas and concepts in both verbal and written form
•	Motivated self-staring individual; Team player

DESIRED SKILLS:
The following skills are desirable in a candidate applying for this position:

•	Experience in the cable or telecom industry
•	Knowledge of Digital Cable or Digital TV technology
•	SNMP, scripting languages (JavaScript, Perl, etc.) 
•	Experience using the Rational Unified Process (RUP)
•	Experience using UML
•	Experience with Ant or Maven
