Our client is urgently looking to add a Sr Level Java Developer/Architect for a full time position. This is a great opportunity to join a high profile development team in a Fortune 300 company. This team is looking to add people that are both very talented in software design and development but also have a great attitude and a strong work ethic. The team works on a very large integrated single sign on portal that integrates the entire company's product suite. The technologies are Java/J2EE, WebSphere Portal, Oracle, etc. 
Responsibilities: Working as part of the team to architect, design, develop, test, and implement extreme high volume Internet application software. Designs and develops applications in accordance with specs. Meets design, and coding deliverable deadlines throughout project lifecycle. Communicate with team leaders and managers on ongoing status, milestones, and success. Leverage direction set by architects and team leaders to ensure consistency across multiple applications. Performs unit and systems testing of applications/solutions. Resolves all defects/issues reported. Troubleshoots and supports solutions on an ongoing basis. Mentors and trains less experienced team members in the use and support of the new technologies. 

Qualifications: BS or above in Computer Science or Engineering; 8 - 14 years experience in software development with strong customer focus. Strong experience with Java, J2EE, Struts, UML, OOAD, Web Services and multi-tier software design and development; 3+ years hands on experience developing Web application using Java technology including JSP, Servlets, EJB, Java Beans, and JDBC, XML, XSL, XSLT, and Java based XML API's; Familiarity with multiple application servers (Weblogic, WebSphere, iPlanet, Oracle Application Server, etc.); Hands-on technical expertise in MQ Series, XML, HTML, ISAPI, and relational databases preferred. Thorough understanding of software development processes and methodologies and knowledge of the complete product development life cycle. Experience in RUP and associated tools (Rational Clearcase, Clearquest) is a plus. Experience with Toplink or other Object to Relational mapping tool preferable
