Our customer is an Atlanta-based consumer and commercial services company. Through its wholly owned subsidiaries, the Company provides essential pest control services and protection against pest damage, rodents and insects to approximately 1.7 million customers in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Panama from over 400 locations. Due to very strong financial numbers and new high-priority projects that have been approved, our customer is looking for a technical team lead to build and grow a team for some large, high impact software development projects. 
In this role, the candidate will be expected to lead a current team of development resources through a large scale project that will be a very high impact on the business. This position will report to the director of the group. This online application initiates from a handheld device that captures important customer data, then ultimately delivers it back to the consumer via a web-based application. As this application continues to grow and add incremental value to the business - larger and more strategic investments are being made to enhance it's features for the customer. 

This role will be changing and evolving as the project progresses through it's lifecycle -so a dynamic candidate is needed. Initially this role will be divided into: 60% project setup, mentoring, and working with the team to get the project going; then 40% technical coding, architecture and code review. As the project progresses, the role will become more of an execution position where the candidate will be expected to develop code to spec and execute on coding tasks for the project. 

Because this is not a pure technical role, impeccable organization, PM and people skills are necessary. This role will interact with all critical parts of the business including enterprise architecture, business owners, QA, etc. The ability to run and execute on an enterprise - level application is necessary for the role. The chosen candidate will have a proven track record of successfully leading a technical team through an enterprise-level application development process. 

This role will need to lead by example. The situational awareness to understand how the application fits in to the organization - and deliver the clear goals to the team is very important. The ability to read code, mentor junior developers, understand and enforce good coding standards is critical. 

The application is written using the Microsoft suite of handheld applications on the front end, and pure Java on the backend. The candidate will be expected to lead in both areas - however extensive experience in both technologies is not critical. There is enough technical expertise on site to assist in either technology. 

This position is scheduled to start immediately; with interviews starting as soon as qualified candidates are identified. The director will start with a phone screen, then move to an onsite interview for the most qualified candidates.
