Job Title: Back-end Java Developer
Location:
Business Name: Advanced Process Designs
Email: smithmarkl at gmail.com

Job Description:
----------------

My name is Mark Smith and I manage development for Advanced Process Designs (http://www.advancedprocessdesigns.com). We're a small group of shock troops that have been engaged to create a new product inside a largish multi-national.

Here's what were doing in more detail:
-We're building a framework so that our client can enable collaboration between our client's customers (a Connected Community).
-This collaboration entails file sharing with versioning, shared event calendars (not a personal calendar, but more like a journal), blogs, web page editing, a community directory, etc... Over time, we'll continue to add more functionality including bringing in some of the applications our client has (they own a few industry vertical software companies).
-The technical base for the project is Liferay (http://www.liferay.com ; a portal) and Alfresco (http://www.alfresco.com ; an ECM tool that is also the keeper of our user model).
-Liferay is a Java servlet based application. We've made changes to it to support SSO, UI changes, etc...
-Alfresco is also a Java servlet based application. We've made changes to it support our unique user model.
-We will deploy both on Tomcat with Oracle on AIX (or maybe Linux to start).

I'm looking for someone who can work with the existing back-end logic (both Liferay's, Alfresco's, and ours), create new portlets to snap into the portal, and someone who knows something about Tomcat deployments and Oracle (not a DBA, but knows how to install it for dev and QA environments, etc...).

This is a contract position based out of our office in Alpharetta (near Northpoint Mall).
