Seeking a seasoned Java developer with development experience in front end web interfaces as well as backend integration, business tier objects and database access objects.  The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in developing large and small complex applications from beginning to end; be very savvy with regard to database design and data retrieval; and have very good business analyst skills.  
This developer will be implementing new modules and making modifications to existing functionality on an application that is a combination of packaged application and custom modules.  

Responsibilities: 
•	Design, develop, document and unit test new modules and modifications to existing modules in web based system using Java, JSP, Apache Struts and EJB technologies
•	Develop rapid prototypes of concepts discussed in open design sessions
•	Implement application design using Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) application framework 
•	Develop detailed designs consistent with object-oriented principles
•	Accurately estimate work effort and complete assignments on schedule 
•	Work effectively in a distributed team environment
•	Present work in peer review sessions and resolve all identified issues 
•	Work effectively with Technical Architects, Developers, Testers and Operations to create and deploy solutions 

Required Skills:
•	5+ years of development experience using the Java programming language, Struts, JSP and J2EE to implement web based applications 
•	Experience in report design and layout a plus
•	Experience in database design with a strong understanding of relational theory and normalization 
•	Very strong business analysis skills and experience working with business users and business analysts to fully understand business requirements 
•	Strong communications skills and the ability to communicate technical issues in a way that non-technical people can easily understand
