Senior Java Engineer 

Design, develop & maintain a test automation harness using open source technology to support ongoing regression testing for product suite.  This position reports to the Automation and Tools manager and will work closely with the Functional QA, Architecture, Development & Release management teams to automate the suite of regression test cases.

Key Responsibilities:

Ø       Design & develop automation framework using open source tool. 

Ø       On-going maintenance the test scripts developed 

Ø       Execution of the test scripts.

Ø       Develop tools for the QA team.

Ø       Apply new approaches and concepts to improve the productivity and efficiency.

Ø       Ability to work with the Open Source community to resolve open issues.

Ø       Troubleshoot automated test failures and resolve issues encountered during test execution.

Minimum Professional and Technical Skills:

Ø       Must have hands on experience building automation test tools using open source technology.

Ø       3 Years Experience with Java.

Ø       3 Years Experience with Unix and/or Linux – scripting.

Ø       4 Years Experience with Web development with HTML, JavaScript & Perl.

Ø       Strong experience with MYSQL.

Ø       Strong understanding of testing methodologies.

Ø       Strong understanding of version control tools like subversion or CVS.

Ø       Solid understanding of SLDC and Software Testing methodology and approaches.

Ø       Experience with software packaging and release management.

Ø       Experience developing tools is a plus.

Ø       Experience with Selenium a plus.

Ø       Experience with Firefox extensions a plus.

Ø       Excellent problem solving abilities and critical thinking skills.

 
 
Minimum Education, Certification, Training:
 
 

BS degree in Computer Science
