Java Software Engineer

Opportunity with an exciting company to develop their software product. Team oriented environment. Lots of perks including flexible hours. 

Key tasks and responsibilities:
a) Creating new applications & maintaining and enhancing existing applications.
b) Helping to develop system and programming standards.
c) Contributing to the continued enhancement of product.
d) Liaising with members of the product development team as well as other departments. 


Essential for this role are: 
a) Excellent Java and XML skills with a minimum of 2 to 4 years' experience.
b) Experience of creating applets and using Java plug-ins.
c) Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
d) Ability to work under pressure, and assess and solve problems calmly and methodically.
e) Self-motivation and team playing.

Desirable but not essential:
a) Experience of Jonas and / or Eclipse.
b) Knowledge of writing Mac-compatible systems. 
c) Experience of HTML, CSS, Javascript and JSP.
d) Creation of SOAP services and understanding of this area.
