Thompson Technologies has an immediate need for an Applications Engineer with expert experience in Java, EJB, Oracle, UNIX. This is a 6 month contract to perm opportunity in Atlanta, GA.

Our client is looking for individuals to help build a new internet-based business. The Senior Applications Engineer will be responsible for delivering high quality software components on time and within budget, defining software architecture with clear interfaces and properly structuring modules to satisfy requirements.

 

Responsibilities
Designs, develops, architects and manages the execution of software components for web/HTML-based applications.  Integrates internal/external systems with infrastructure.   Develops software to interface with databases that generate desired information on current systems, while anticipating migration to next generation systems.  Mentoring (at a senior software engineer level) of junior software engineers, for coding standards, design principles and development processes.   May perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications
Must demonstrate strong leadership and project management ability. Also responsible for determining how software technology can be used to help meet the objectives of new or modified products and services.   B.S. degree in Computer Science or Information Systems preferred and 6-9 years experience in object oriented development.  2-3 years prior experience as a technical team leader.   Expert in Java, EJB, Oracle, UNIX (Prefer Solaris) and has advanced knowledge (and understands interrelationships) of PL/SQL. Must have strong interpersonal & communications skills.
