Candidates must have significant experience architecting and designing business systems of enterprise-scale and breadth. Strong analytical skills are a must as is experience with multiple technologies. The position is ideal for candidates who are leaders that thrive on being innovative and excel at collaborating with other software professionals to build the next generation of enterprise-scale software solutions. 

The principal duties & responsibilities of this position are as follows: 

• Typically works on one or more IT projects as a member of a project team; works on complex projects that require knowledge in one or more technical areas and business segments 
• Participates on one or more architect project teams, including the design and modeling of solutions, component identification, quality reviews and adherence to guidelines and procedures 
• Researches and evaluates software/ hardware products and industry trends to assist in project development and operational support activities 
• Analyzes the current architecture to identify weaknesses and develop opportunities for improvements such as expanding capacity, reducing time & cost, and increasing effectiveness 
• Assists in developing and communicating architectural policies and standards for the enterprise 
• Analyzes and develops architectural requirements and framework strategy 
• Assesses the capacity and resource utilization of applications, components, network, and/or platform facilities; modifies LAN/WAN designs and architectures by reviewing end-user, topology, physical, security, performance and interoperability requirements 
• Plans, coordinates, and performs software inspections and quality reviews 
• Supports the selection of tools and components used for an IT project; recommends expenditures based on the size, scope, and cost of hardware and software components; provides input on options, risk, cost vs. benefits, and impacts on other processes for buy vs. build decisions 
• Applies the use of middleware to facilitate the portability and scalability of applications 
• Coordinates the integration of third party and internally developed components to achieve operability 
• Performs other related duties as required Requirements

Education & Experience: 

• Bachelor’s degree, specialized training, and 5-7 years of experience in multiple IT areas or an equivalent combination of education and experience 
• Demonstrable expertise/knowledge in presentation tier architecture, design, and development across multiple client types and technologies.
