Qualifications: - At least five years experience leading the development of video products for the Web. 
- At least seven years experience developing Web applications, including three years of experience with rich Internet applications and their associated technologies. (e.g., Ajax, Adobe Flex, DOM scripting, advanced CSS techniques, various JavaScript development frameworks). 
-Expert-level knowledge of both WindowsMedia and Flash video platforms including: 
Codecs. 
-Players and associated APIs. 
-Video streaming servers (for both VOD and live products). 
-At least ten years experience in software development, with a background that includes Java/J2EE and associated frameworks, application servers, etc. Must demonstrate working knowledge of current software engineering, architecture, and design principles. Experience with Microsoft development tools for Web applications is a plus 
-Demonstrated ability to lead development projects through their complete lifecycle including inception, tracking and risk management, and production turnover and documentation. Previous experience with Agile/SCRUM methods a plus. 
-Excellent communication and customer interaction skills.


The Director leads a team of 4-6 software engineers who are responsible for the development, integration, and ongoing management of video products. The teams primary activities include: Developing video players and supporting frameworks for advertising and content delivery; Leading overall technical implementation of consumer-facing video players and applications through the complete development and product lifecycle; and Working closely with Web/broadband properties to understand their needs, keep them abreast of technical capabilities, define products and projects, and generally provide a focal point for communication. In other words, the Director will be the go to person within System Development for our business partners. 

The Director must be able to work in a team context. Like other key technology platforms, Web Video products are developed by dedicated platform team which aside from the Director, also includes a senior product manager, project managers, and a team responsible for Web video production (encoding for consumer formats, integration with both television and Web content production systems). Successful product development requires the smooth functioning of this team, so candidates are expected not only to be expert in relevant technologies, but also demonstrate leadership and teamwork.
