Job Title:	Senior Software Engineer

SUMMARY: 
We want an individual who is a self-starter, who works well in small dynamic groups, and who is not afraid to contribute their ideas and opinions for a senior programming position on our architecture team. We desire someone who eagerly accepts new challenges, can adapt well to change, and is willing to learn.

This position focuses heavily on Java programming, XML, HTML and Enterprise Java server technology.  The applicant will create new features for our model driven architecture which automatically generates Java source code for various applications. The applicant will also be developing new distributed Java server processes used for integration and management of the overall application framework.


RESPONSIBILITIES: 
•	Enhance and develop the framework architecture that facilitates enterprise level business applications.
•	Work with Java EE n-tier technology including EJB and JPA with Hibernate.
•	Develop dynamic web services/XML and other web based business integration services.
•	Extend and enhance the metadata based development environment that is used to build and generate business applications.

 
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: 
•	Bachelor's degree in software engineering or computer science.  Requires 6-9 years experience in software development, design and/or product support.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
 
•	Perform advanced level design work and be able to provide input into the functionality of the product and the technical approach.  Identify inaccurate, incomplete or otherwise flawed designs early in the design/development cycle with suggestions for alternative approaches.
•	Apply excellent technical skills along with continuous refinement in advanced programming techniques to increase speed of work while not compromising quality. 
•	May manage the design, programming, and testing of portions of large projects. In addition, may be responsible for managing all aspects of a smaller project.
•	Candidates should require very little assistance on the majority of their tasks. SSEs  may be asked to supervise the work of other programmers. The SSE may be the senior team member on a project team. In these instances the SSE must ensure (through personal example and individual mentoring) that he/she is developing the skills of the less experienced team members. The knowledge that the SSE has obtained (and must be passed along) deal with both technical abilities, as well as the philosophies/methodologies of the Product Engineering Division. 
•	Prefer experience working with DB/2, Eclipse, Subversion, and/or SQL generation.
