Our client in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for
direct hire, permanent position in San Diego, CA. The right candidate
must have at least 5 years of solid development experience using Java
and C++ - any experience with TKL is a plus (but not required). This is
a leadership position within the software group and will not be the
typical heavy code development type of role, but perform more of an
overseeing of code developed by others. This position will interact with
customers and bring back requirements into the software group.
Outstanding communication skills both written and verbal are required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

		* Working closely with other developers and quality
assurance teams through the software lifecycle, including requirements
definition, development, testing, deployment and support

		* Ensuring software projects are completed on time, on
budget and according to quality standards

		* Developing product design documentation based on
product specifications 

		* Interacting with other departments to ensure
effective, ongoing communication 

		* Participating in multiple, concurrent product
development team projects

		* Cooperating with quality assurance, support, product
management and program engineering teams to quickly, rationally and
reasonably respond to escalated issues 

		* Developing, delivering and testing bug fixes, patches
and service releases 

		* Producing product documentation

Qualifications:

		* Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or
equivalent related experience 

		* Five-plus years demonstrating very solid distributed
software engineering experience with significant involvement in
developing commercial software products and services 

		* Strong in Object Oriented Development, Multithreaded
applications and Internet-based technologies 

		* Track record of project execution to time and budget 

		* Thorough knowledge of software engineering processes
and procedures and general product development principles including
program design, coding, testing and debugging 

		* Knowledge of several operating systems including
Windows Server Platforms, especially Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 and
Linux or Solaris 

		* Extensive experience with Java development tools
including open source libraries 

		* Strong Java development skills along with experience
in multiple programming languages

		* Experience with the following a plus: SNMP, Sockets -
TCP/IP, TCL, Python, Spring Framework, Hibernate, J2EE Applications
Servers, Java RMI, Java JMS, Swing, ILOG JViews, and AJAX.
