Thompson Technologies has an immediate opportunity for a Production Support Analyst with a well-established corporation in Knoxville, TN.  

In this role you will work closely with other staff and key business users across the organization to provide daily support for applications utilizing a variety of technologies, including JAVA/J2EE and Oracle PL/SQL.  

The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of Application Support or Development experience in a Unix environment, be self-motivated, adaptable, adept at multi-tasking, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

The ability to work collaboratively and effectively with all levels of management and staff is also crucial to this role.  

Responsibilities:

- Support will include, but may not be limited to, reviewing problems reported

- Prioritizing and researching these problems to determine solutions.  

- Documenting processes and procedures required for support. 

- Learning new applications and functionality as required. 

- Participating in special projects involving the implementation of a new tools or applications.

- Participation in On-call rotation is required.

Job Restrictions:

Requirements:
- 2+ years of dedicated Application Support or Development experience

- 2+ years of JAVA/J2EE (Servlet, JSP, JAVA Beans) 

- 1+ years of C/Visual C++ 

- 2+ years of Websphere Ration Software Development Platform (RAD) 

- 1+ years of Oracle PL/SQL 9i (10g preferred) 

- 1+ years of Perl, VB Scripting, and Javascript 

- Exposure to Struts Framework

- Working knowledge of UNIX commands and basic shell scripting 

Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of any of the following is highly preferred: Tuxedo Services, WebSphere, TIBCO, VB, XML, Toad, DataStage, CA suite of tools (Autosys & Harvest, or other source control tool) 

- Financial services and / or credit card processing experience a Plus 

Education and Training:
BS or Equivalent Work Experience.

Certification / License:
JAVA/J2EE certification preferred.
UNIX certification preferred.

Other Considerations:
Minimal travel may be required (Less than 5%).
