This position can be 6 mos. contract-to-hire, or perm.


We have an immediate need for a Software Engineer (Intermediate) to work on one of our Internet-based applications.  The individual will be a strong Java developer and will develop new products through the full development life cycle.  The application will be built in Java and Struts and will run on WebSphere.  

Primary Responsibility:  Perform analysis, design, programming, and modifications of computer programs for software.  

Responsibilities:

• Enhance, design, and develop J2EE software solutions 
• Problem solving 
• Overall understanding of the application and how it addresses customer needs 
• Ensure standards are followed 
• Production of use cases, class diagrams, and UML notation 
• Work with internal customers to understand business and requirements
• Potential on-call duties 

Requirements: 

• Good, hands-on Java / J2EE skills including server side development experience including servlets, EJBs,  JSPs, JDBC. 
• Solid OO A&D including experience with UML.  
• JDBC – Stored Procedures (knowledge of how to call).
• Web/Application Server  experience  (WebSphere, Web Logic, JBoss, Apache Tomcat)
• Relational database experience (Oracle, DB2, SQL, etc.).  . 
• IDE - WSAD  or Eclipse
• SQL (ability to write SQL statements to look at information) 
• JUnit and integration testing experience.
• Ability to work in a team environment.  
• Thorough problem solving skills and expeditious results.


Preferred (not required): 
• Web Services (i.e. SOAP, WSDL).  
• Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field (i.e. Computer Science/ Engineering/Mathematics)
