This position can be 6 mos., contract-to-hire, or perm.


We have an immediate need for Senior Software Engineer to work on one of our newest Internet-based applications.  These individulas will be a strong Java developer and will develop new products through the full developemnt life cycle.  The application will be built in Java and Struts and will run on WebSphere.

Primary Responsibilities:

Design and develop J2EE software solutions, Assist with estimation of work effort of the team, Lead design sessions, Give technical direction, Perform code reviews, Overall understanding of the application and how it addresses customer needs, Reporting/communication with Project Manager, Mentor junior developers, Ensure standards are followed, Production of use cases, class diagrams and UML notation, Potential on-call duties

Requirements:

ExpertRequirements: 

• Expert, hands-on Java / J2EE skills including server side development experience including servlets, EJBs, JSPs and JDBC
• Minimum of five years of experience in OO A&D (Experience with UML is a plus).  
• Web/Application Server experience  (WebSphere, Web Logic, JBoss, Apache Tomcat)
• Relational database experience (Oracle, DB2, SQL, etc.).  . 
• IDE - WSAD  or Eclipse
• Struts 
• Lead technical team in design and development efforts; been acknowledged as the senior technical lead, go-to person of the development team.  
• Ability to work in a team environment and mentor other developers.

Preferred (not required):  
• Experience with commercial web applications development – working with a customer, external or internal.
• ClearCase (used as a developer, not administrator); Web Services (i.e. SOAP, WSDL).  
• Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field (i.e. Computer Science/ Engineering/Mathematics).
