Senior Software Developer / Team Lead Position

Job Summary

The Senior Software Developer will be responsible for contributing to the technical analysis, design, implementation and support of high-impact software solutions for various projects relating CLIENT residential and commercial converged product offerings in a consensus-driven environment.  The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leadership and innovation and be responsible for ensuring quality software, while understanding team-building and cooperation as part of success.  A reasonable outlook to consider other’s opinions and suggestions is a requirement for this position, along with a strong background in software development methodologies and experience in bringing products to market.

This is a hands-on position which will require individual contribution as well as team leadership skills.

Job Duties

Minimum Requirements a candidate must possess:

•	6+ years of JAVA/J2EE software development experience
•	Practical use of J2EE Design patterns, Software Development Lifecycle processes and J2EE 1.3 technologies
•	Experience installing and configuring JBOSS 4.0+ and Tomcat 4.0+ application servers
•	Excellent written and oral communication skills
•	Experience developing with JUNIT unit testing tools
•	Experience developing with Web Services (SOAP, XSD)

•	Ability to communicate effectively with project management and business analyst teams
•	Must work effectively with other team members to bring quality products to market.
•	Must understand team-building is essential and integral to the software development process

Must be able to:
 
•	Develop a strong understanding of wireless products and technologies
•	Work with a team and provide mentoring to junior level developers
•	Coordinate with cross-departmental teams towards common goals
•	Communicate effectively by phone, in person, or email to several areas of Client
•	Interface wireless applications with Client Business Partners applications through common B2B technologies including Web Services/XML/WSI Security/Encryption
•	Provide day to day support of existing wireless applications
•	Know and use commonly used J2EE design patterns such as MVC/VO/Factory/EJB Patterns
•	Build working relationships with other teams including Engineering, Operations, Project Management, and Development groups
•	Follow a project plan with specific tasks delegated
•	Provide assistance to business owners of feasibility/timelines of new development products
•	Implement unit/profile/load testing of applications
•	Be proactive to provide solutions to the evolving needs of the wireless team
•	Manage and maintain software configurations of development, QA, staging and production environments, with hand-off documentation for production support team
•	Learn, adapt, and implement quickly new technologies for scalable robust wireless applications
•	Work well with a team and on an individual basis
•	Attend related meetings and provide feedback on projects, support issues, and technical changes
•	Navigate Solaris 10 environment easily, understand basic system administration tasks and  files manipulation tasks
•	Self starter; able to define goals and timeframes with limited direct oversight
